It is incredible how one small idea can grow into something truly unique!

Deaf Emerging Voice originates from a Deaf Missions conference where I, Kari Analco, shared my
passion to see one of Children's Storybook Bibles translated into ASL, with several parents,
including the CEO of Silent Blessings, Tanya Polstra, who said, "YES!" Then I contacted Deaf Missions about translating, but they suggested I develop an original. Initially, I dismissed that thought. When I reached out to Pastor Mark Batterson, who wrote, “Big Dreams and Powerful Prayers Children Storybook Bible”, with Illustrations in 2021, for his permission to translate his book into ASL, he fully supported that idea. After a few tries, I realized that copyright law is a lot more complicated and prevents me from proceeding. Through corresponding with Mark, my passion and idea for a Cross-Cultural Storybook Bible with ASL Illustration and ASL videos formed with clarity, to the point I realized that creating an original is the best direction for an all-inclusive storybook Bible. Through hours and hours of conversation with the community, I realized the necessity of starting a non-profit organization. Deaf Emerging Voice exists to raise awareness of the need for an ASL Cross-Cultural Storybook Bible and to raise the funds necessary to support the work to produce and publish that bible.
Deaf Emerging Voice is rooted in the belief that we, the Deaf community, all have an ingrained
responsibility to make a significant difference in our larger community, in the Body of Christ. With a variety of God-given skills, we come together to achieve our goals through volunteering or
contracting with Deaf Emerging Voice.
